If a side-by-side, then almost certainly a Stevens/Savage offering. If marked "Ranger", then still a better than even chance of being Stevens, but also made in lesser quantities by Hunter Arms in Fulton, NY.
For the record... Both are excellent utility guns. I had a 20ga. Ranger made by Hunter when I was a boy. A very nice little scattergun.

I almost forgot... While you never mentioned gauge or condition, I'll assume either a 12 or a 20 in reasonable condition. These will bring $150 to $200 on most markets. They're viewed as shooters only. A .410 will double the value condition to condition.0 -
