Winchester 1905 Question
Did they ever make a 351?with a octogon barrel. I have never seen one.

A friend just picked up a Win 1905 .35 Win caliber with no magazine. There were only about 29,000 manufactured, so this is probably a lost cause, but can anyone give me the name of a company that might have the mags? After market would be better than nothing.

Try Numrich Arms somewhere in NY...last # i had for them is 845-679-2417.
They always seem to come up with the damndest little parts that nobody else has.

They're on the net at: http://www.e-gunparts.com/ , but I doubt that they'll have mag for the '05.
Hoosier Gun Works has them for the '07 (.351 Win.) but don't list anything for the '05. http://www.hoosiergunworks.com/catalog/magazine_rifle.html
Your best bet might be Joe Lowe at: http://www.jocoemprise.com/ .....he's usually got a lot of oddball magazines kicking around.
BTW, the cartridge for that Model 1905 is .35 WSL (Winchester Self Loading) not .35 Winchester. They're two different cartridges, and both are difficult to find.0 -
FYI - I have a Winchester 05 in a .32 and it was also missing the clip. Tried Gun Parts Corp out of NY for about 1.5 yrs and they never had one. Finally found one on an auction and had to pay for it - $60. Keep your eyes open and good luck!! 0 -

I may have bought this gun! Just received it and I have searched high and low for a clip in 35WSL. I found one on the internet in VA but when I reached out to him I received an email her husband had recently passed away. 0 -

You can get the cases from several sources these days if you look...
Believe it or not the .351 wsl and .401 wsl show up quite a bit at cowboy action shoots.
Case forming is a valid option as well.
Sadly Walt has also passed from this earth and the gunshop is now a super wawa.

Consider triple k for repro magazines.
They do grips and mags and leather now.
Order there hard bound catalogues - great reference materials.

Well this is certainly an older thread, here's my 2 cents.
Numrich has repro 351 magazines and there are plenty (to include originals) on auction sites. Springs in the Numrich repros aren't sufficiently strong, in my opinion, so best to buy the original springs sold by Numrich too & switch out. You may have to do a bit of fitting of the mag to the rifle.
Buffalo Arms, Grafs and Midway are pretty good stocking Jamison brand 351 WSL brass and even 35 WSL brass. In a pinch 300 AAC Blackout brass can be used. Run the 300 brass through the 351 case mouth expander brass and fire form, although not much is needed. Works pretty well for general plinking and losing brass doesn't send me into fits.
Grafs sells 180 RN copper plated bullets, Western Bullets sells a 170 RNL.
A fellow on YouTube has some pretty good videos on the 1905/07/10 series to include a leather brass deflector that works and looks right too.0 -
My 1905 was the 35cal but someone put a barrel on it chambered for .30US, the little military carbine (M1?). The mag is the same and doesn't look to be frigged with. It cycles fine and no problem to get ammo. 0
