remington 7400
has anyone heard of gas block cracking on 7400? what could cause and can gun be fixed. gun is 30-06 delux

i just picked one of these up in a GB auction and upon closer inspection noticed it had no sling posts. well i found the front adapter, but would like to know if you have to drill the holes for the rear posts. it is the synthetic model, 270 caliber. i haven't gotten the gun yet, just saw it in the pictures.

I want to know about this. My reply may bring this subject up front again. I've not heard of the Remington 'weathermaster' system. What is this. I want a 7600 in .280.
Anyone have some answers?

The answer to both questions is no. The 7400 Weathermaster is only made in the 30-06 caliber. This is a special run this year. From what Remington told me about the gun it does not sound like they have any new plans on this gun. The 7400 has had many special edition and they don't seem to take them very far after the initial stages. To add a little to the second question, I do not believe that they are making a 7600 Weathermaster. The Weathermaster system is merely a nickel-plated barrel and receiver. It then comes with a monte carlo synthetic stock. It is very sharp looking gun and I love mine. If you have ever seen the 870 Marine, it is similar to that. The nickel finish is very dull so I don't worry about reflection too much. Hope that answers your questions. 0 -
