Pedersoli Sharps 45-70
I just inherited a new never fired Sharps (pedersoli) Quigley with barrel front and creedmore rear sights plus 500 rnds of remmington 45-70 ammo I'm trying to find information concerning what is the best ammo to shoot, good range for the ammo I have and the basic firing operation. Do I need "patches" I'm gun literate, been around guns all my life and have many firarms--I just have never experianced the sharps line of firearms. Unfortunatley I didn't receive a manual for the weapon.
any information would be greatly appreciated.

Skyman, this might help. If you can find Pedersoli on the web, or get a mailing address, they will likely give you a manual for free. Most manufacturors do.

In the winter issue of 'The Black Powder Cartridge News' there is a letter from Tom Burnham giveing his experiences with the Pedersoli Sharps in caliber .45-70. He seems to feel that it is a lot of gun for the money. 0 -
