The gun has been generally well received, but it's really not much different than the well-established Glock. I would suggest staying with a Glock if you want a proven pistol in polymer attire. You'll pay a bit more, but they are worth it. I really love mine.

This is not a knock of either the gun or Springfield. Springfield doesn't market junk and they stand behind their stuff. I just know that the market tends to favor guns that have been around awhile.

As I'm sure you probably know, this gun was not originally a Springfield. I've looked at them myself and I've pretty much decided on a Glock 23. This isn't to say the Springfield isn't a great gun. You might want to take a look at the "HS 2000" Its the same as the XD series. From what I've seen the prices on the XD's are going up. I may be wrong Im just trying to help ya out

Yes, it is the former HS2000 made in Croatia. It has gotten some good field reviews by some respected members of this forum. I don't particularily care for the gun but that is a personal opinion only. I do not care for SAs policy of importing a gun with their name on it and charging an additional 100-150 for the same gun.

SA seems to want to make a point out of the replaceable frame rails. My question is why? I have seen Glocks with 50000+ rounds thru them that did not need new frame rails. IMHO with the price of the XD rapidly approaching the Glock, buy the Glock.

I chose a Glock 22. The field tests are much better on the Glocks and they have an abundance of after market and other accessories such as high cap mags, carbine conversions, caliber conversions, threaded barrels ect. Pick the Glock, you won't regret it.

When Clinton left office they gave him a 21 gun salute. Its a damn shame they all missed....

Yup I'll second that one. SA is upping the price on a gun they didn't originally make and selling it for the same price as a Glock almost. My hard earned ~$500 is getting saved for a Glock 23. Well said Punchie

I am not that knowledgeable about Glock vs Springfield XD but I do own a ported .40cal (V10) XD and I do like the way it shoots.I do believe the XD has fully supported chamber that should eliminate the chance of a KB. Has anyone heard of an XD KB? You certainly hear a lot of Glocks going KB. Just my .02 worth but I am biased 'cause I own one.

Thanks for all the feedback. I shot a Glock 32 and didn't care much for the way it felt in my hand. It shot well though. I looked at some other Glocks hoping that I could find on that felt right to me and they all felt the same. I'll be picking up the Springfield this week so I should be able to get it at the lower price. Thanks again for the feedback.

I do not know about the Springfield Xd, but I also did not like the way the glock felt at first. That being said, I now have 3 glocks. Shoot them a bunch and you will appreciate. Very reliable and accurate. What ever you choose, shoot alot.
