Herter's Shell Holders
I have an old Wells/Herters press and would like to know the shell holder numbers for the following calibers: 30/06, 6.5 X 55, 223, 357 mag, 44 mag and 300 Weatherby mag. Does anyone know the numbers or a website that has them? The shell holders are the screw in type rather than the ones with a nut on the end. Thanks for the help.

I have an old Herters catalog somwhere which should have the numbers you are looking for. I believe the 30/06 size may be number 1. I can try to find them for you but I don`t get on here very often so maybe someone else can get them for you sooner.
When you have the numbers are you planning to buy the shell holders ? I don`t believe Herters has made these for many years. I have an old Herters Model 3 press (which uses the shell holders with the set screws). I got an adapter quite a few years ago which allows me to use the current standard shell holders but I don`t know if they were or are available for the screw in type shell holders.0 -
