A Real Stumper, Help!!

Need help identifiying an unusual pistol. It is a small framed revolver that is chrome plated. Barrel is octogonal and approx 3.5" in length. Grips are small squared bake-o-lite type plastic. It is a double action and the cylinder is held in place much like a old single action revolver. The only mark on this pistol is on the top strap and it says "the american double action". It I beleive it is chambered for the .32. Any help with identification is appreciated.

    ....or it could be one of hundreds of thousands of cheap "Saturday Night Specials" (aka "Suicide Specials") made from the 1880s thru the 1930s by a variety of low-end American and European makers that bore "catchy names" ....but no manufacturer's name.

    Most sold for $2 to $4 new.....and aren't worth a helluva lot more today.

    As guns, they make great paperweights.

    Seriously, I don't recommend that you try to shoot it....or sell it to anybody you like. These guns were very cheaply made and easily go out of time....often spitting more lead out of the cylinder gap than out the end of the barrel.

    the h&r american double action was manufactured from about 1883 until 1918 (end of world 1) when the name was changed to the victor. this name was used until the beginning of world war 2 when it was discontinued. early version of the revolver (pre 1905) were manufactured for black powder cartridges only. one reference i have says over 850,000 of these revolver produced.

    I have a Victor and a Young America, Both the same frame, Victor has a Non-fluted cylinder and round Barrel, Young America has a fluted cylinder and octagon barrel both chambered 32 S&W
