Browning "Hi-Power Practical"

I'm looking at getting a .40 pistol and have pretty-much narrowed it down to a Browning Hi-Power. I'm in CA, so I can't opt for a Kahr P40 (drop test), and I don't see a point to the K40. I've heard nothing but good about the Browning HPs, is there anything I should know before proceeding?

  If you are buying a MK III you will have a fine gun.But the original Hi-Power had a bad hammer style.Ive been bit more than I care for bt the Hammer flying back with the slide to eject the spent caseing.But the MK IIIs dont have that problem but have all the good quality of the Hi-Power.

  I believe the HP is one of the best handling autos ever made. I have a 40 and am completely happy with it. You won't regret your decision. Good luck.

  I've got 5 HiPowers, one is a 40....they are all excellent shooters...the hammer bite can easily be remedied with a ring hammer or one of Cylinder & Slides oval shaped units.
