A newbee Question
I am new here to the forum, so far it has been great, I have gathered a lot of information. The stupid question is, if I ask a question and someone answers me, how do I respond to say thanks for the help/information. would I just read the asnswer and then just hit the reply to topic key and say thanks. How will I know that that person saw my reply.
Thanks,
Hake
Thanks,
Hake

He/she will post the standard "Thanks fot the thanks" reply............................. ;-) 0 -
You probably won't know but a reply of 'thanks' is always appreciated and doesn't go un-noticed. Welcome to the forum.

Just post a simple thank you hake. It will be appreciated by all who answer your post. 0 -
If you want to thank them personally, just use the e-mail icon and send them a short note. There isn't anything much more frustrating than when you go to some effort to answer a question and you never hear back from the questioner. It's good of you to even think about it. Welcome to the forum and ask anything you want.

Hake, ditto wundudnee and welcome. BTW, in the past three years, I've only seen one 'dumb' question, which was by a child asking how he could become a moderator. It is a wise person who knows enough to ask a question. 0 -
Double ditto, wundudnee,- word for word!
I've researched info, searched and located parts, snail-mailed copies and small parts for free and several times never even got a thanks. I have a file marked "Does not respond, Do not respond".
I think now I'll give about 3 weeks and then send an email-"YOU'RE WELCOME!!".
Thanks for your thoughtfulness, Hake.0 -
Responders do apprecitate a thanks. You may not know they got it, but if you posted it, that is their problem, not yours. In fact, people often check back, because their reply might have generated another question from you. They will also check to see if you are a polite type or not.
I don't believe we really have newbies here, just some have been around longer than others. Welcome aboard.0 -
That is great, thanks to all for taking the time make someone feel at home. Thanks again.
