Sorry, I only have a Speer and Hornady Manual. I have seen a Load book that is strictly for the TC Contender. Maybe someone else on the forum will know about it. 0 -
Hang in there, drawn... When I get back to my reloading bench tonite I'll post what I can find. The Lyman guide has a section for Contender's & I have the Contender-specific reprinted manual as well.
Here's what I found:
Loadbook's 1997 (p. 375) reprint from Sierra's (and Sierra's 50th) gives handgun loads for 300 grain JHP IMR4198 - 38.8 gn start (1450fps) to maximum 43.2 gn (1650), H4198 - 39.4 gr / 43.4 gr (same velocities), COL 2.535"
As always, start with the minimum load provided & work up as needed, keeping an eye out for overpressure signs.

My Lyman 47th editions shows the following for a 300 gr. JHP,for IMR 4198 powder.
sugg. starting grains 31.0 for 1008 fps in a 10" bbl.
max. suggested load 36.0 gr for 1297fps in a 10" bbl.
This is from the Contender section of the manual.
shows oal of 2.550
As alwyays, use caution on the top-end loads, although this is not top-end for the calibe, but the gun itself.
Not responsible for accuracy of this post,or safety of this load.I just posted what the book said.(and of course triple-checked my input).
One thing I learned with my t/c in 45-70 was the true meaning of download.:)0
