I'm thinking around $350, but that's out of my head, not the book. Maybe someone else here can be more specific.

    Welcome to GB.

Do you have the wooden cod fish box and original manual and copy of the old Ruger ad that came with it when new? Incidently it's a Mk II......Hondo

Yes the box, books and old ad are all there. And thanks for the info. I really know nothing about this gun except that it's new and everything is there.

By the way wolfman 129 welcome to the site. Recently saw this Ruger for sale here in SoCal for $500. When I went back to the shop several weeks later it was sold. If you don't need the money hang on to it. Now that Bill Ruger is dead it will only go up in price. There are new Ruger collectors getting started every day......Hondo

First of all, thanks for an absolutly great website! Many of my questions have been answered by just reading thru the other posts. Keep up the great work.
I have a Ruger 22 automatic stainless that is signed by Bill Ruger. This gun is 1 of 5000 made. The serial# is 17-02656. I have heard these were the first stainless autos made by Ruger in 1982. This gun is new and has never been fired. Any idea what it's worth?

    Thanks

[/quote]Please exuse the first reply cause it came out wrong, I'm not good on the computer and entered the wrong key!! Just found this site and seems pretty good and noticed your question about the Ruger Signature model. It is the last of the Mark I 's and was made in 1982. It is the only Mk I made in stainless steel. Then they became the MKII in either blue or stainless after 1982 and the MKII has a "hold open" for the bolt on the last shot. The MKI model does not have this function. There were 5000 made, and retailed for 499.00.
You can find them wholesale sometimes as low as 350.00 and the current market at the gun show is between 450 -500.00. As some one else said to you, now that Bill Ruger has passed on, the values can and should go up! I would hold onto it for a while. Good luck and hope this helps you out! Dan
