  YES IT HAS A V IN THE SERIAL # , TOLD THIS WAS A POLICE OR MILATARY, ERA MID 1940S ????

  Yes, the 915 is just a plain version of the 5906/5904 series. It doesn't have as many bells and whistles, but mechanically it is the same. Barrels, mags, springs, grips, internals, etc. should interchange.
