    Personally 7G for a Ma Deuce is way too much $.

    You can build one much cheaper. Or go to a camp in NV or AZ to build your own.

    I remember seen parts and stuff on the web some where but didn't book market it. I have seen ton of parts at gun shows.

    I would say a reasonable price is 2000 for a full gun, maybe 2500 with a tripod. 7000 is ridiclous.

    There is a guy who advertises a training program in Az or Nv to build your own M1919 30cal....I am sure he can do the course in M2 format. I believe the course was 1500....5 days and nights accomodations included....you bring the parts. Its under the gunbroker auctions somewhere.


    I will try to keep my eyes peeled for parts and info.

    Its just 7G is alota $$ for a M2.

    And they are based out of California and have the most current info on 2003 California legislation for handguns and say that those 2 semi-auto versions of MGs are 50 state legal with letters from the BATF. It really looks like they are California legal, which is a hoot. You can't buy a rifle with a pistol grip or a 30 round magazine in California, but its ok to have a semi-auto MG with a 200 round belt.

    SilverBox, slow down there guy, you are moving too fast! First thing is that you can forget all about the 200 round belt as a high capacity magazine means "any ammunition feeding device with the capacity to accept more than 10 rounds" The only items exempted are .22LR tube magazines and tube mags for lever action firearms. This is straight from CA PC 12020 (25) A,B,&C. The ban includes linked ammunition and cloth belts. This is from the DOJ Assault Weapons Identification Guide issued to FFL holders in this state. If you had the linked ammo in your posession prior to the enactment of the ban you are in good shape, but as soon as you shoot it and it desentigrates you can't reassemble it, that is manufacturing a new high capacity feeding device after the ban date! Stupid? Of course it is!

    The pistol grip issue is another matter in that a semi 1919 is not legal if it has a pistol grip. The double spade grip on "Ma Duce" may slip through the cracks for now but here is the DOJ definition of a pistol grip: "A grip that allows for a pistol style grasp in which the web of the hand can be placed below the top of the exposed portion of the trigger while firing". Since the trigger on an M2 Browning .50 cal is situated just about level with the top of the spade grips and the web of your hand pretty much wraps around those grips, it sounds as though this fits the pistol grip definition...at least to me. Whether or not this matter will be pushed further by the DOJ remains to be seen.
