Buffing a gun without washing out the markings, rounding the corners or dishing out the flat surfaces is a skill best left to a professional. Blue Wonder Bluing has been used with success by some of the members. The cleaner, bought separately from the kit, is supposed to remove rust. Your cheapest way out may be to derust the pits and reblue.

The problem is that I can get an original one in good shape for what it would cost to have a professional do this one.

AGI has a video on bluing and polishing. It's about $90, but does have alot of USABLE information, where most books i've read tend to be very vague or so thourough and complicated i wouldn't have the time or patience to try it. If you already know how to properly sand and polish, look into the tape on nitre bluing. WWW.americangunsmithing.com
