Broomhandle Mauser Questions...

Any help as to value on this broomhandle would be appreciated. All numbers match, SN 815XX. Marked with importer name "Von Lengerke & Detmold, New-York", also "waffenfabrik Mauser Oberndorf A Neckar" on receiver and "Waffenfabrik Mauser Oberndorf A/N" just forward of chamber right on top. Sights 50-1000. Condition 90%+ with original stock.

  More info's needed to be super accurate, but here's a shot:
  It appears that your gun is a pre-war commercial C96. If it's 7.63 Mauser, all numbers match, and has the 34-groove grips (I didn't feel like going cross-eyed squinting at the screen to count them), it's worth $725.00 (90%) to $850.00(95%). If the stock's number matches, add $400.00. If it doesn't, $325.00. My info also says that most of these have been reblued and otherwise reworked, because most were in pretty rough shape when imported. Hope this helps you some- keep in mind that these guns are sorta like Lugers- there are a gillion variations and markings that can affect their value.

  I've seen 'em on line from 2 grand and up US. But those were in absolutely mint condition and with a perfect stock. Mind you, a lot depends on where you are.

  looks like this is a prewar, small ring hammer, long extractor transitional model... book value with original stock is $4500...
