Will wrap around wood grips for the Officers Model fit the Colt Defender?

  My sister just bought a Colt Police Positive Special, Third Model that was made in 1979, which has after market grips on it. She says the piece is in excellent + condition. My question has to do with what kind of grips did it come with from the factory since she is toying with the idea of putting factory stocks back on it, but does not know exactly what she needs. Any help on this issue would be appreciated.

  Yes; Officer & Defender have the same size grip frame; the difference is in the barrel length. The full size Government model as well as the Commander have a longer grip frame than the Off & Def.
