    i want to get a bipod for my 30-06 and i like the harris bipods....are there any compairable bipods that aren't as expensive?

    HI, use shooting sticks instead of a bipod. Lighter, you don't have to shoot off one pod on uneven ground, you can track an animal with the scope upright.... Make your own (recent article in Field & Stream Oct 2002) or buy from Cabelas' et al for $34

    If the bipod touches or causes any pressure on the bbl, you will likely lose accuracy and your point of impact will be disturbed. In the event that you have a TOTALLY free-floating bbl, and the bipod attaches to the STOCK, you will probably be OK.
