Mexican Mauser -Large or Small Ring?

Does anyone know if a Mexican Mauser (stamp dated 1931) in 8x57mm is a Large or Small Ring Mauser?

  I have one torn down in my shop right now. Small ring barrel (to my suprise). Changed my project plans. Instead of a 308 it's now becoming a 257........Cool........
