Mauser?
Hi,
Out of my league here and not sure what I'm looking at. Looks like a mauser action with a chromed bolt and flat bolt handle. It wears a Noris scope dovetailed in the front. I can't find anything but a 4 digit number on the receiver and the barrel is not marked either. Took the stock off and can see no markings underneath. A bit rusty on rifle and scope.
Any help with identifying is appreciated and idea of scope or rifle value? The scope has 3 a 3 post reticle.
Is the engraved stock something that was mass produced, it looks familiar to me.

Can someone give me some info on a sportster mauser that has a crown looking crest with AMBERG 1916 under it. 0 -
Without more information I can only tell you that Amberg was a principal German Govt. arsenal and 1916 the year of manufacture. It is highly likely that you have a sporterized Gewehr (rifle) 98, as 1916 was the middle of W.W.I and that is what they were producing at the time. 0
