Iver Johnson Champion 14 mm ????
I recently picked this gun up.The only markings on the barrel are patd. june 15,15 and 14 mm.It appears to be 32 ga. but i can't be certain. serial no. is 35xxx.There is not much blueing left on it but it locks up tight. The bore is shiny but does have some pitting. The buttstock has an old well repaired crack but is very sound. Can anyone give me any info. and approximate value of this. 32 ga. shells seem to fit perfectly but i am not sure if i should fire this gun. Thanks.

the earliest iver johnson's arms & cycle works catalog i have that lists the 32 gauge is 1905 and the only small gauges listed in the 1919 catalog are the 28 and .410 bore. the conclusion is they were manufactured from 1905 to 1918.
i believe the 14mm markings is an early form or marking the choke.
i have seen champion .410 bore guns with full choke marked 12mm
value on single barrel shotguns is generally not very high. champions will be between $50 and $150 depending on condition with the smaller gauges bring a premium
