1917 Enfield

Winchester 1917 enfield. Barrel is two grove,The finish looks parkerised, reciver etc blued. All dimentions are correct, Markings on barrel have flaiming bomb,etc. Question. Were these rifles reconditioned (rebarreled) etc at any point in time. Thanks.

  Is there any problem with drilling, and tapping the bridges on a Remington Enfield, SN 214332. Also where might I get a sporter style stock (inleted) for this puppy. I'm toying with the idea of building an A square type big bore of some cal. I'm pretty much up on the issues, and tasks at hand, so will use a compent smith for the metal work. THX in advance HAWKSHAW
