870 Express vs Wingmaster

Are the differences between the Rem 870 Express and Wingmaster only cosmetic, or are there mechanical/material differences, also?

  The action is the same. You'll get a walnut stock and a blue finish with the Wingmaster, a beech stock and a parkerized finish on the Express.

  Just went through this same question with a friend who wouldn't believe that the differences are cosmetic only. He called Remington and got the same answer that D.G. gave you.

  Thanks guys! If there was a mechanical reason, I'd consider the Wingmaster, but I don't need this gun to look pretty.
