what kind of barrel should i get for a 10/22 that has the best accuracy?

    My 10/22 cycles only with hV ammo. Is there a possibilty to take some weight of the bolt to be able to shoot normal 22s?
    Will this hav an effect of the lifetime of the reciever?

    The Ruger 10/22 is a gun that justly deserves the label of "GREAT". In my opinion no gun rack is complete without at least one. I have two, both with addon barrels, fancy stocks, and trigger jobs. They are accurate out of the box and a lot of rifle for the money. Accesories abound. Buy one, you will not regret it.

    The 10/22 is the smallblock Chevy of rimfire rifles....everyone has one, plenty of accessories, barrels, magazines, stocks, and gadgets to make whatever you want. Can be tricked out to compete with the finest target rifle....or thrown behind the seat of a pickup for some casual plinking. Best of all, they are cheap....you won't go wrong with this choice.

    The 10/22 is a wise choice if you are looking to add to your collection. There are however some unforseen expenses you might not expect right away... Look at it this way, with the abundance of aftermarket parts for this rifle, it would be like owning a hot rod. Youre going to want your rifle to have its own personality and not look like every other so heres where the $$$ comes in. Be prepared to shell out some cash cause its addicting. If theres any consolation, its extremely fun!

    Beerboy.. as mentioned above the 10-22 is probably the most prolific .22 rifle in the U.S.A. You will not be sorry if you buy one.
    I have 3. One with a heavy barrel that I was able to install myself because of the outstanding design of the Ruger, it has a scope and Power Custom trigger in it. The other two are stock except for a choat pistol grip stock on one of them. I use them for bunny hunting, and they are very accurate right out of the box.
    As mentioned above there are tons of accessories and add-ons you can buy to set it up just the way you want it. Buy one, you'll love it, and no I dont work for Ruger.

    10/22 is a good gun, but just flat out is too short for me to shoot comfortably. Personally, I like the model 60 Marlin. Can't go wrong with it either.

    Taxation WITH representation isn't so hot, either!

    nobody has touched on the reliability of the 10/22. when i was younger and hunting bunnies with a beagle i wandered countless hours thru the woods in the worst of weather. on one occasion i fell in a beaver dam, dropped the gun in the water and hunted the rest of the day with it. the action froze shut, it fired the first round and didnt cycle, after breaking it loose, it fired the 10 rounds flawlessly!!!! its like the ak 47 of 22s.

    you wont be disappointed.....

    It's quite easy to spend 5X or more the base price of Ruger 10/22 and get it all tricked out. If you want a shortcut to a target shooter, get a 10/22T and invest a few extra bucks in a trigger job. This will get you into a very accurate gun and still keep the price down. The custom guys will not be happy, but you will.
