Gun questions
Im trying to decide between a brown.gold or a ben.super eagle.
the s.e.is more expensive however,I like certain features on the Benelli;Like the reduced weight.When your kicking up rabbits w/o a dog that's a nice feature.Reguardless, in someone's opinoun which one is the better gun?which one is the most versitle.I would like to hunt flying object's,and ground critters.Also,since rifles are not allowed in the state of IL. I would'nt mine a s.gun that can accmodate slug's.Change of barrel or whatever. Hope my question make's sense.
One quick question.what is the opinoun of a sig.357 for home defense and as a shooter.Ive got a glock 22 I Shoot. but $10.00 a box get's expensive.Thank you.

I like the browning gold. The additional weight makes for a good follow through. I have shot benelli and they are nice guns also. Your choice, either will meet your needs. 0 -
Not only too much turkey, too much EVERYTHING!!!!! Just to throw another name in, have you tried the Franchi Vario-Max 712? If memory serves me right Franchi,Benelli,and Beretta are all under the same corporate umbrella of Beretta.
We have had more nit-picking quality control issues with Benelli than all other brands combined. Little things like 20ga choke tubes for 12 ga guns, missing butt pads, flaws in finish, and unmovaeable safeties. The good part is that when you got a good one you got a 'really' good one. Another bad part is that customer service in Accoceek while courteous and concerned are extremely SLOW.
Extra bbl are available for all the brands but they are expensive. Many of the current crop of rifled slugs give surprising accuracy without having to go to a slug specific (rifled) bbl. If you are going to use buckshot I strongly recommend something along the lines of the BuckKicker extended choke tube.
If you don't like the economy of the 40 S&W in the G22, you will like the 357Sig even less. The bottleneck 357Sig was designed to give mid level 357 Magnum performance in an automatic cartridge. Increased recoil, flash and cost make it one that is not suitable for everyone.

I have a Benelli super blk eagle, and love it . It has 26" bbl, camo funish, and set of 5 tubes. I have had no problems with it, and lot of birds have fallen from the sky with it. You can shoot slugs as long as you use the mod or larger choke tubes.
I shot the Springfield Armory XD pistol in .357 sig recently at a match put on by SA. The caliber has a lot of blast and associated velocity that could cause over penatration, and that could spell problems in you house. A good quality .45 acp with its slower heavier bullets will do fine for home protection.0 -

This opinion from someone who messes with rifles a whole lot more than shotguns but loves to shoot them! If I had the money and wanted a new shotgun today it would be a Benelli!!!! After shooting 3 of them this year I decided that if I ever could I was going to own an SBE!! There is no other shotgun out there with that kind of action and it works and I think felt recoil is less than the others even with the less weight. It's true that those companies mentioned are all under the same corporate umbrella but there is only 1 Benelli action!!! The others have their own system. GHD 0 -
I have to vote for the SBE in camo. An all round gun. I even shot 25 straight at the trap range with it. I have never had it fail at the low power dove loads, if broken in correctly.

My Benelli fired 4000+ rnds in argentina in 3 days and functioned flawlessly. I only wiped the inside down each day, i didn't even pull it all the way down to clean it until I got home, and it still never had a single failure. It would get so hot, that you could smell the oil starting to evaporate and the wood even began to smell like it was burning.

I have a bennilli Nova. I only have SE and Brownings in my dreams. The one thing I really liked about my Benelli was the Warrenty. Reming and Winchester only came with a one or two year warrenty but my Benelli came with a five year warrenty. That helped me make my decision when I was looking for a new gun. 0 -
