Springfield M1A 308
I am considering selling my M1A. I just have too many of them.
I need to know how to determine if it has a match trigger group.
I already know it has a match barrel and front and rear match hooded
sights. I also need to know how to identify the stock wood type.
It looks like maybe the walnut, but I'm not sure.
I need specifics in order to sell it with an accurate description.
If a photo will help to identify these things, I will be happy to email some to you.

Iam not sure about your trigger group, but the stock is almost certainly walnut. Springfield only uses walnut and synthetic for their stocks, so if its wood then it should be walnut. It would be a beep brown color. If it has a light color then it could be a surplus birch stock. 0 -

There are no real match grade trigger groups. most all the springfields have either G.I. parts or trw. assuming you have a springfield. the difference is a match trigger will break at 4 1/2 lbs. the match grade stock will be larger in the fore stock and in the grip if you put next to one of your standard M1A's it should look noticably beefier all over. you can also check the spring guide it should be round and or with 4 flats milled on it. the op rod guide should be over 1" wide. the op rod should be forged. if you have a case dimension go no gauge a spend cartridge should barely exceed the max mesurement. this would indicate a match grade chamber 0 -

I was wrong about the hood. My supermatch is the one that has the rear sight hood. The springfield is broken in but still in like new condition. Eric
