Scopes
I'm wanting the best scope for no more than $750.00(unless there is a real standout that is worth an extra $50.00-$100.00).
I have a Leupold picked out. It is the VX III 4.5-14x50mm Long Range Side Focus with a 30mm Tube. I was also wondering if the illuminated model is worth the extra money.
I was also looking into Sightron but I can't seem to find a lot of information about them. Can anyone help me out here? Are they as good as Leupold?
Are there any other brands I should look at?
I'm using this for big game and varmint hunting, maybe some target shooting (nothing serious). The gun I am using is a Remington Model 700 308.
Any information/suggestions would be helpful.

Yes, ATN is at atncorp.com and SA is Springfield Armory. Sorry, I should have spelled it out. 0 -
A lot of people have had trouble with the SA 4-14X56 2nd and 3rd generation scopes, don't know about the first gen. My second gen has been back for repair at least 3 times, maybe 4 in the last 6 years or so, some people swear by 'em, some swear at 'em.
I've heard of ATN but never tried one, seems like I've heard a couple mediocre-poor opinion reports on them ~0
