National Match barrel=Life expectancy?
I'm looking at getting a National Match M1A or AR-10T. Are these barrels Chrome lined? and do these barrels wear out quicker than standared barrels?(because i'm guessing the tolarences are tighter)
I plan on using mostly nato spec surplus ammo and i don't want a barrel that will wear out after only 2-3 thousand rounds.
I really like what i heard about the accuaracy off these rifles but will they last just as long as the standard models?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Welcome to the board. I would suggest a M1A for ease in maintenance and parts avail. The Stainless 1-10 twist would be the best option in case you should ever deciede to shoot some heavier bullet's. I shot one for 15,000+ rounds and it still shot 1/4 moa with the pet load. 168 gr hpbt over 47 grs H380. this was a custom built double lugged gun. 0 -
Let me see if I have this right. You want an accurate match rifle but you want to shoot NATO mil-sup? 99.5% of the mil-sup ammo that I have seen or used is not what you would call match ammo. Combat accuracy yes, good burner ammo yes, match ammo no.

Yes, i will be shooting mostly Nato spec ammo out of whatever gun i decide to purchase, So will using this ammo in a NM rifle still be more accurate than a regular M1A? And also which barrel will i be able to get most life out off? 0 -
Yes your ball ammo will shoot better out of the NM barrel. and a stainless steel barrel will give you longer life. 0 -
Thanks for the info GPWEAPON. 0
