Ruger M77 MKII .223 twist rate
My friend has a Ruger M77 MKII .223. Can anyone tell me the twist rate of the barrel?

I'm not absolutely sure, but I'd just about bet it's 1 in 14, but it could possibly be 1 in 12.
You can find out for sure by marking a line length-wise on a cleaning rod with a fine point felt-tip pen, and with a "not too snug" patch on a looped end, push the patch down the bore till it makes a complete revolution and measure how far it went down the bore to make a complete turn.
The patch should be just tight enough to be sure it's not slipping as it goes down the rifling.
