Reproduction flintlock rifle question
I am planning to buy a flintlock rifle that will be used for deer hunting. I am considering the Thompson Center and Lyman Plains Rifle.
Would appreciate any input from people having experience with either one. Would also like to know of similar flintlocks that you recommend.

I have a friend who owns a used (about 11 years old) Lyman .50-caliber. While its styling leaves much to be desired -- although not nearly as much as T/C's -- it is accurate and reliable. He horse hunts in Washington state. The rifle has taken one elk and I-don't-know-how-many deer.
I would not own it because it has no grace. It is a club that goes "bang." T/C's rifles make it look beautiful.
There are several limited production rifles that are beautiful as well as functional. Think about it.
