What is the overall quality of the Colt Series 80 Combat Commander pistol? I like the feel of it, the parts fit looks good, although the chamber throating looks a bit suspect. Any thoughts on accuracy and reliability?

If a gun looks like it's been worked over by an amateur gunsmith, you'd probably want a pro gunsmith evaluate it. If it looks like they might have removed too much metal or did a really sloppy job, you might end with a problem gun you'll have to junk.

OTOH, if it passes muster by a gunsmith, you have good gun that can do well. A Commander is the basis for an ideal carry gun. Just a little customization makes a Commander awesome usually just the sights, trigger and some dehorning. The 1911 design/.45 ACP cartridge in a smaller package is very appealing. Doesn't get much better than that.

I would agree with mballai. If someone has done a bad job on the chamber it can lead to case blowouts.Very dangerous.
