HELLO. I HAVE A DUCKS UNLIMITED BROWNING A-5 12 GA. SHOTGUN. IT IS THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY WITH VERY DETAILED ENGRAVING AND GOLD PLATING ON IT. IT IS A LOW SERIAL # 140. NEVER BEEN SHOT, AND NEVER HAD A SHELL IN THE CHAMBER. ALSO HAVE 2 BOXES OF DUCKS UNLIMITED COLLECTOR SHOT GUN SHELLS. DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY WERE MADE, AND HOW MUCH IT IS WORTH ?   First, you have a desirable gun. The A-5 in any of its many incarnations is perhaps the premier auto scattergun in the world.
  
  That being said, the bad news is that D/U guns haven't had a history of bringing any significant premiums over their more common bretheren. You didn't state it, but I expect your gun was made in Japan. Not a bad thing, but worth less than a similar Belgian gun.
  
  Gold plate will mean little as far as value. Engraving will depend on quality and detail. In some cases it will mean a significant premium. In others it will mean almost nothing.
  
  12ga. guns are currently on the bottom of the collector list as they're the most numerous. A basic A-5 in new condition will turn between $500 and $700 hereabouts, but values are very regional. If the engraving is of high enough quality and someone sees the potential, your gun might double the value given... I doubt it, but I certainly hope so.

  are the du shells the brass ones in the remington tin?if so these will bring $50-$75 per box.keep on bangin boys

  Tatanguns, welcome to the GB forum. It is always very difficult to place a hard value on these types of firearms since they were never intended to be retailed- rather they were for auction or as prizes.
  I can find two different references for production numbers for your A5: the first states that 5000 were made and the second claims the number was around 5500. These Brownings were made by Miroku in Japan back in 1987. I have two sources with different NIB prices- $950 or $1300. Of course your shotgun could sell for much more if a DU collector wanted it to fill out a spot in his collection. I hope this information helps you.
