price for ar15 upper

i just came from a show and almost bought an olympic arms a2 upper with an m4 barrel. post ban with bolt carrier and key. dealer was asking $369 with tax, out the door and for $20 he will give me an m4 handguard. also, for $349 he would sell me a 20" or 16" a2 upper with complete bolt. is the m4 barrel worth it? What kind of performance should i expect from this?

  I was just was checking the bushmaster catalog and they list the one with the bolt carrier and charge handle for $525.00 I don't know how the olympics shoot haven't heard any bad reports. there is a notation in the catalog that these uppers can be used only on regestered pistols or full auto rifles so I would check the legality of the conversion. I've heard the machine gun conviction's are not worth it.

  M4 uppers are legal on postban lowers as long as they meet postban requirements (no flash hider or short barreletc, etc.) The Olympic uppers shoot as well as any, and my standard barrel upper isnt quite as accurate as my friends m4 upper. Neither of our olympic rifles have ever malfunctioned. I would also get the m4 handguard, as my car-15 style handguard isnt as comfortable as my friends m4 set and his resists heating better.
