45 acp carbine

I recently purchased a Charles Daly 45acp mainly because it came with one of these "Colt 1911 Carbine's" that you see advertised on this auction site. And I have to tell you it's been nothing but fun! It came with alittle Simmons red dot sight that's not worth awhole lot in my humble opinion but over all I am very pleased with the way it functions.My question is has anyone else bought or tried one of these and what do they think of them. Has anyone chronographed it ? I'm curious about velocity gains over a 5" barrel. I know mine is darn near a tack driver out to 50 yrds. Haven't really shot it much further yet but plan to shortly. Recently I have seen some 15 round 1911 mags up for auction. Does anyone have any experiance with these? If they functioned properly that would be a great addition to the carbine. Thanks for any feedback you can give me. Oh Yeah, another thing I REALLY like about it is it is made in the good ol US of A in Montana.
