Question of value or at least price check
over on the auction there is a Bushmaster 86 or 87 commemrative AR 15, says its unfired 1/3000 made, what are these worth or at least what do they usually sell for ? Also how do you look up the value, is there some kind of book or catalog made with prices listed ?

Most Guns are listed in a publication entitled "The Blue Book of Gun Values." This book is widely used to determine a "starting point" to determine value of specific guns. This "Guide" may be high or low depending on the factors which affect prices regionally. Also, prices and demand changes......in other words, there are many variables that affect prices and this is only a "Guide."
Commemorative Guns are made from time to time by most manufacturers. Some of these models have appreciated in value, but most stay about the same as when sold. Why? Well, Commemorative collectors don't generally use the gun....only pamper it and it remains in 100% condition. This means many guns in 100% condition, which affects the possibility of "rareity." Not all guns which are Commemorative issues are listed in the Blue Book. Unfortunately, this gun you are asking about is not listed. You might contact Bushmaster and see if you could get a "suggested retail price" for the gun in question, at the time of its sale and use that as a "guide" for value, or in the alternative, check to see if you can find a history from "sold" guns on one of the Gun Auction sites such as this one. Good Luck!
