Winchester Model 100 Recall

I just picked up a Winchester Model 100 rifle in .308. Later production with pressed checkering. I know Winchester recalled these years ago due to a firing pin breakage problem. The last owner had it for years and never heard about the recall. My question is do they still do the repairs, the cost (if any), and how to contact Winchester? Will they send parts or do I have to send the gun to them?
    TIA!!

You might also ask if there was a problem or recall relating to the gas operationg system.I seem to recall reading of this but that was quite a while back and sometimes yesterday is hard enough to remember.
Just seems I read a recall notice about these rifles, but it coulda just been the one you mentioned.

Call Winchester at 1-800-852-5734, give them the serial number and they will let you know if it was done already, or who to send it to.

I had a Winchester 100 carbine refitted with the new pin recently by Frank Lefever & Sons in New York [phone 315-337-6722]. They did one of mine in 1991 and one this year. The one this year was done and returned to me in less than 5 days.
