New Ammo
I bought a couple boxes of American Ammunition (A-MERC).45acp recently. The Turner's guys said there was no feedback about the ammo yet, as it's new to market. I put 50 or so rounds through my KZ45 and it seems to shoot similarly to the Winchester (white box) I normally use. I had one feed malfunction that seems to have been caused by a bullet seated too far into the case. This could have been a fluke, but I wanted to know if anyone else here had feedback about A-MERC.
Thanks

A-Merc ammo has been around for several years. It is inexpensive and usually works well. The only persistant problem is the primer pocket is a bit smaller than most and is therefore difficult to reload.
Hope this helps.0 -
Always double check any information you get from Turners. I never ask any questions in her stores due to being mislead to many times.

Thanks cliffdropover1, that helps
I always ask questions in Turners, just as I do at the other gun stores I frequent. The more conflictory data to analyze the better. And yes, there has been a time when the gun stores were wrong and my Turner's contact was right . . . although that was so long ago I don't remember what was at issue.
One thing I've noticed with gun store owners - they can be wrong with great authority!
Of course this is a rare occurance, but it sucks to be a novice, entrusting a professional to steer you in the right direction only to find out years later that there were many options the "profession" never bothered to bring up; whether it's because he's older and believes "if it ain't broke don't fix it" (so he doesn't keep current on new products), or he doesn't sell S&W because of their politics, or if he just doesn't suggest products he doesn't carry in stock. I don't trust ANYONE's opinion any more without first cross-referencing data with other sources. Thanks to all who help myself and others on this board

Is this the american ammo that comes in the see thru plastic "egg carton" boxes?
If so I bought a 1000 rds of .45 a couple years ago. Had 4 or 4 dud, failure to fire rounds. I hear our shop has an ongoing complaint with this company because one of their rounds was double possibly tripple loaded, blew up a gun.

Drobs is correct. Turners has issued a recall of this American ammunition that went on sale last week for safety reasons. Go to http://www.turners.com/turners/news ammorecall.php for more information............Hondo 0 -
