Joe, In California the max is 10 rounds, no buying, no interstate, no lending, No. The only legal way is if you owned before the ban date or you become a LEO.

I wouldn't let that stop you from buying a Colt 1991A1 45acp that is on the ca doj approoved list.

1.There are 10 round mags for them and no law on how many mags you can own. (although my personal favorite is the Wilson combat 8 rounders). 9mm's are favored in high capacity due to there lack of stopping power compaired to the .45 round.

2.There are some good points made on revolvers but the train of thought concerning reliability is becoming a thing of the past due to manufactures putting out more reliable products. A good friend of mine just purchased a new Colt 1991A1 and so far has shot 600 rounds without a single malfunction using Winchester 230gr fmj.

Yeah, tough luck that you are in CA. Here in the rest of the USA we can get hi-caps, but only those made or imported before the ban, unless you are a LEO.

If you do go with a revolver, you should defintely get a couple of speedloaders. Closest thing to having a magazine quick reload for the revolver.

    Drawn,
My girls soccer team a bunch of 2nd stringers (they were told but not by me) have endured a lot of punishment during the last two seasons then emerging at the top of the heap this year. Medal's about the size of a silver dollar do not cut-it, so I decided to buy them trohy's with a plaque and some engraving and when I read this from your posting:***""LIFE IS NOT A JOURNEY TO THE GRAVE WITH THE INTENTION OF ARRIVING SAFELY IN ONE PRETTY AND WELL PRESERVED PIECE, BUT, TO SKID ACROSS THE LINE BROADSIDE, THOROUGHLY USED UP, WORN OUT, LEAKING OIL, SHOUTING GERONIMO!!"*** ....thanks, with your permission I would like to have that saying on their plaques...mminariksr@cox.net
