    The date codes shown in the Blue Book only go back to 1921. Obviously your gun is older than that. The Blue Book lists a pre-model 11 shotgun that was produced from 1905 to 1910. That seems to be what you have. There may have been changes when the model ll went into production in 1911.

    You have a very old "Remington Autoloading Shotgun" I believe it must have been made in 1905, the first year of production. In fact the experts guessed that the first serial number was 10,000 but yours proves that wrong. You might check the chamber to make sure it is for modern 2 3/4 inch shells. There were 7807 made that first year. Enjoy.

    Sorry, I was off on the serial number by a factor of 10. Your gun was made in 1910. It still predates the model 11 designation by a year.
