OLD 16 GAUGE QUESTIONS
i received an old single shot shotgun from my father it is a 16 gauge. my father bought it used when he was 15 years old (he was born in 1922)the name on the guns appears to be fastern or eastern arms it looks more like fastern the only markings on this gun is on the top of the barrel where it breaks open it says made in the USA 16 gauge choke. on the bottom of the gun there is a serial number of only four numbers this is located at the back of the trigger "gaurd" the barrel is not a damascus steel twist barrel also the choke on this gun is so small that the tip of my pinky will not go into the barrel.the stock and forearm are solid walnut, i was wondering if anyone had ever heard of this company or what? the people i have talked to have never heard of them any help would be greatly appreciated this gun is now going to be a family heirloom handed down to my son when he is old enough to relize that this gun was so special to me any info please please email me at :mrsillypants99@yahoo.com thank you very much

EASTERN ARMS COMPANY, Made by Meriden Firearms and sold by SEARS-ROEBUCK..In Very Good Condituion...Worth a $100.00....

Eastern Arms was manufactured by Savage/Stevens.
Never heard of a Fastern. Probably either a 94B by Stevens or a
416 by Savage. Not worth much but it was your Dad's gun. Keep it,
cherish it and always remember. 1010 -

i really appreciate the info like i said the gun is very old and there is no money that could buy it but i was really trying to figure it out the monetary value means nothing to me but the memories mean a lifetime still the best shooting gun i have ever owned again thank you all very much

Let me make it clear for you gentlemen....The question was asked about EASTERN ARMS COMPANY......Made by Meriden Firearms and sold by SEARS-ROEBUCK.....
EASTERN was made by STEVENS ARMS...
Two different Companies....My reply was for the Eastern Arms Company not the Eastern..............
