300 Win Mag
when looking for a Lee Clasic Loader for a 300 win mag all i can fine is the LEE LOADER 300 Weatherby Magnum does any one have the specs i need to know how much difference the cases are between the 2

I've got myself fixed on purchasing a rifle in 300 Win Mag, but can't decide on what to get. I can pick up a NIB Rem 700 Police for $660. Then I ran across the Sako TRG-42 (haven't found a price for it yet, but reckon it is really high). Of course, I could save a bundle by looking at the Rem 700 BDL or ADL. Or a Savage.
What do y'all think? Primary usage will be target shooting, 100-400 yards. Would also like to use this rifle for elk hunting if/when I get the chance. Is that a good price on the Rem 700 Police?0 -
as a major elk and deer hunter I think that the 300 is a great round a bit heavy for der, but great for elk!!!! I would go with a 700 rem any day of the week. I feel that remington makes the best rifle for the price and if you see most custom rifle makers use the 700 action so that should tell you what a good gun they are!!1 I know by saying this Im opening myself up to critsism, but this is my thought and feeling !!! Good hunting!!

I have a Rem. 700 LSS in 300 WIN. Mag Its great .It shoots Rem 150 gr.in a 3/4 inch group at a 100 yds,3 shot groups.This is the way it came out of the box.Ive have always had good rifles from Remington.It does have a leapould 3-9 on it R.W. 0 -
The Sako is made by Beretta,and over priced in my opinion.But it is a good Rifle,I guess I own more Remingtons than anything.But the Savage package is a great buy,plus it will save you a bundle.I have a Savage Model 11F and it shoots as good as any gun Ive got.Good luck.

the only thing i've got against the rem. is the 'c clip' extractor, the win. m-70 classic and ruger m-77 mk 2 both have the 'claw' type extractor and controled round feeding and would get my vote. the sako is also very good but pricey. 0 -
700 gets my vote. M70 win next.

I have two Rem 700. One 7mm mag and one 7mm-8 mountain rifle. Both are great rifles. I just helped my buddy by a 300 mag and we ended up with a tikka. They're owned by sako and come with sako barrels. Best trigger pull I've ever seen out of the box. Check them out. They run around 600.00 bucks. 0 -
Thanks guys. I've got a couple of Sakos and a Savage bolt, but I don't have a single Remington 700. I guess the collection is really incomplete without one. So now I just need to decide between ADL, BDL and Police. I'll probably go with the Police, since it will see much more range time than hunting time. $660 looks like a pretty fair price for one, too.
