Help Identify Pinfire Pepperbox

A friend lent me this gun to identify and evaluate. He thinks it is worth a lot of money.

It is a .32 caliber pinfire pepperbox, 6 shots. Double action only.

Frame is nickel and cylinder is blue. Wood grips. Folding trigger and no sights.

There are no markings whatever. It is in very good condition and seems to have been shot little if at all, though the finish is fading.

    APACHE FIST PISTOL, 1860's French Thieves Pistol of Choice..Probably made in Belguim...Never saw a French made piece that did'nt have French Proofs on it..Its one of the very few Pin-Fires that have any Collecter Value...In as new Condition they are Worth in the $400.00 Bracket...

    I think that the good Capt. has hit it on the head once again. A "fIST" pistol made in either France or Belgium on the Lefaucheux patent. Could date anywhere from 1860-1890. Value ranges from $400-$600.

    Here is an email I got from Mr. Horst.

    Hello David,
    that's one of the many cheaply made 1860's - 1870's pepperboxes, most in 7mm pinfire and made in and around Liege, Belgium.
    Those were produced by kitchen-table entrepreneurs, often from several families, one made barrels, the next cylinders and so on.
    Because this were cheaply made, nobody was proud on the products and put his name on. Still, all went mandatory to the Liege proof house and were safety-inspected.
    The price should be $300 - if one finds a buyer.
    Most of the socialistic (communistic and in American language "liberal") European nations like the peoples republic of Germanistan - formerly known as Germany, classify them as firearms, and permits for collectors are very difficult to obtain.
