Nightforce Surprize

I think I may have gotten a prize, I need your help. Earlier I posted a question about scopes for an AR-10 and got some advice, on this page, that may have indirectly alerted me to what I recently got at an estate auction. I bid on a box of three scopes for "one money". The box included a trashed Leupold, A new Leupold scout scope and a large Nightforce. The scout scope was what I was intrested in and figured I could trade away the others. I got all three for $625.00. I have paid little attention to the Nightforce I've never heard of it and its name sounded cheesy and it looked big and aquward. However, in researching for a good scope for my AR-10 I've looked at a few web pages and it looks like it might be a good scope. I will have to look at it agian but I know its illuminated, it appears to be new (no box or papers), its about 17" or 18" long (without the sunshade) and it appears to be like the 5.5-22x56 NightForce has on its web-page. Can anyone tell me if this is a good scope, about what its worth and if its good for my AR-10, I'm trying to shoot 500 to 750 yds. Sorry for the length of this post.

  If indeed that is a genuine Nightforce scope then it is worth quite a bit and is definately a good scope for any rifle. Nightforce makes some of the best scopes, and if memory serves most sell for upwards of 800 dollars. I cant tell you for sure if it is, but i know a law enforcment sniper who has a Nightforce mounted on his Remington 700, as do the other 2 sharpshooters on the force. He swares by them as being just as good or better than the MK4. Good luck

  Before trading away the leupold, I'd send it it and have it refurbed ... lifetime warrenty so it wouldn't cost you anything and most likely they would just give you a NIB one rather than repair it ... who knows?

  You would have a $1,100 give or take Nightforce seems to be the choice for law enforcment probably rivials any scope on the market

  To answer your questions.
  No, I was not offended by anyones offer on my scope.
  & Sorry, but I have no intrest in trading or selling it. I dum-lucked into it and seeing as how rarely those deals come along, I think I'll keep it. Thanks for all your polite offers and I wish you you the best of luck in your hunts whatever they may be.
