Ruger P90DC
I recently bought a Ruger P90, and I was wondering if there is an easy way to adjust the trigger pull? It has about 3/4 to 1 inch of free travel before it fires. It is something I could get used to, but I would like it to be a little shorter. Thanks for reading.

Rugers only downfall. You know one of my instructors thru the acadamy went to a ruger armorer's school and the representative told him this. Ruger thinks the trigger is perfect it was engineered to be just like it is.
As far as I know, polish all the contact and bearing surfaces like one would on any normal trigger job, but as far as changing angles or stoning the hammer I have no clue. It sure would be nice if someone made some aftermarket parts for them but apparently they don't.0 -
When you say 'free travel' I assume you are talking about when you are firing it in single action mode. The reason you cannot shorten it, as you know, is that is how far the double action pull travels.
What I do when shooting my P89 (same gun, different caliber) is only let the trigger travel forward until it 'clicks'. After much practice with this method, I find my followup shots are quicker than if I don't concentrate on the trigger pull and let it go all the way home.

Yep they are very nice once you get used to the first DA pull.This was done partially as a liability issue for LE which the P-series were designed for.But I have all of the P- series pistols and I dont have near that much free trigger.You might want to call Ruger and explain your situation and see what they tell you.The no.is
603-865-2442 something may be a little off in your trigger assembly??
I just checked my P- 90 and my whole trigger guard is only about an inch in length something isnt right some where.
