Remington shotgun chamber question
If a Remington Wingmaster is not marked 'magnum' on the receiver yet has a 3" capable barrel mounted is it safe to fire 3" shells in the shotgun?
I've seen both Wingmaster and Express marked magnum and thought if not marked as such they were rated for 2 3/4" shells only regardless of barrel......
Thanks for any help.

It will fire the shell, but ejecting the opened hull will probably not work.

I asked the same question a couple of weeks ago. I have a wing master and a friend gave me a couple of barrels for 2 3/4" and 3". I have not tried a 3" in it but they work fine for 2 3/4" Now I've got 1 870 and 4 barrels for it! Unfortunately, the ones given to me aren't in the best of shape. Now if I can run into a 870 receiver marked 3", I'll be set.
