Glock Problem
First off please stay on topic here. I have a glock 17 that about every 40th to 50th round instead of ejecting it to the side it ejects right back on me. Ive looked it over and i cant seem to figure out what it is. The thing is only got maybe 600rds through it. I took it to an gunsmith he adjusted the extractor on it and its still doing it. Anyone got any ideas ? Thank you for your time and have good rest of your day.

I have a G19 and have about 1500 rounds of FMJ though it with no problems up until tonight. Was shooting up some old carry ammo, about half a year old. And the last shot would not feed in. The slide stuck back with the last round still all the way in the mag. Tried 2 different mags but had the same result. The ammo is Federal 124 grain hydra-shock. Where is the problem here? One of the mags was one of the originals that came with the gun. The other was a factory mag.
Any sugestions? Thanks

The slide lock is holding the slide back, I was able to just pull the side back and let it go and the last round would load.

Or that it locked back and the slide lock/release was holding it? If it was the slide lock/release could you disengage it and chamber the round from the mag?

You mentioned you were shooting some old carry ammo. On another thread, it was mentioned that certain followers will not feed the last round, unless it is fmj. They described circumstances fairly similar, and putting the one fmj at the bottom seemed to solve the fail to feed problem.

Maybe its a good time to have a detail cleaning done, along with an exam by a glock certified armorer, and maybe replacement of some springs. Just a thought. 0 -

I took the gun down to the range tonight and it was catching on the shell itself, not the slide reliese/holder. The last Hydra-shock would stick on the feed ramp. This happened on all 5 of my mags. I tried bikrprchr's sugestion of a FMJ as the last one and it worked every time.

Nate... When my dept adopted the Glocks for duty use we used hydrashock and quickly found out that the glocks did not like that round due to the flat bullet tip hanging up on the front of the mag or the feed ramp. After we changed to a more rounded bullet design like silvertips or black talons, the problem went away. 0 -

I had a similar problem w/ my 9mm Glock this weekend. The main difference was that my mags were jamming every couple of rounds. Anyone have any clue how frustrating this is when you have over 15 rounds in each mag?
Anyway, the general consensus was: Clean the ramp (possibly get a throat job), replace the magazine springs and change ammo.
I bought new mag springs since I had left the mags loaded for a couple of years. I also cleaned the ramps and since I shot all the ammo, I am now going to get some new HPs w/ a more rounded shape to it.

Glocks should feed just about everything if the ammo is SAAMI spec. The newer Hydra-Shok uses a more rounded bullet and shouldn't be any problem especially in 9mm. I would follow Lee's advice and have someone look at your gun. Glocks can be fixed up in a jiffy if it's a minor problem.

Pappy,,,, we are not limited to glocks, it was just added to what we were already authorized to carry on duty.
Our choices are Glocks in 9mm, 40, and 45acp...Sigs in the same calibers, and Beretta in 9mm and 40.
Off duty we can carry anything we want as long as it is 9mm or larger.0
