Unfired S&W, is it M&P model?

    I have seen many S & W pistols that were new in the box from the factory. I never saw one covered in cosmolene as was used by the US Govt. IMO the terms "unissued" and "unfired" should never be used with documentation of the provenance of the gun.

    Thank you SaxonPig! As to the condition, we took it to the guy who now owns McCormicks Bluing here locally. He couldn't be sure but thought the barrel may have been reblued but the rest of the pistol was original. The gun is not for sale and my friend was just curious. The action and case hardening indicate very little use. Its really a nice pistol and he won't be opening it to clean or shooting it.
