if you don't like the pistol, trade or sell it. They are certainly not jam-a-matics, and are capable of decent accuracy when held firmly and the trigger pulled right. If you are going to realize the potential of the pistol, you will need to change your attitude, and accept that it is an operator issue rather than a hardware issue which is holding you back.
I changed the hammer spring in my USP .45 ( www.Wolffsprings.com), and it made the D/A pull smoother.
Recognize that the USP is a combat pistol, not a match pistol. It will function reliably under any conditions, and still deliver 2-3 inch groups @ 25 yards. What more can you ask from a service pistol?

You dont hear to many complaints about the HK but you may have a lemon. Its possible with anything. The biggest complaint usually is the price tag. They are exceptional weapons.Hope it works out for you.

I don't mean to say it's a bad product. Don't want to get all of HKPro.com on my case. It's probably that it doesn't fit me. I think I'm gonna try to trade it off. Kind of a disappoitment though.

I guess it's possible to get one bad one out of the millions Heckler and Koch manufacture, but a jam-o-matic?!?!?!? H and K make the best pistols out there, no doubt in my mind. I know others have there opinions and I don't want to step on any toes, but were you using reloads or something??

New gun??? No, honey, I've had it for years.

I'll trade you a Glock 35 for it, if you want: hecklerxkoch@yahoo.com

Before I bought a full size .45 I shot just about everything out there. The HK was very awkward to me and I couldnt hit squat with it so I purchased the G21, added a captured stainless steel guiderod and some other goodies and I hit bullseyes everytime with it. I also have a p220 and a kimber custom II. I love both of those pistols but I was in the market for a hi-cap handgun.

I have an H&K .40 USP Compact. I put a Tasco red dot on it. It is the most fun to shoot pistol I own and way more accurate than I can hold it free hand. Not a hint of a gun problem in several hundred rounds.

For information I also like my Glock 36 and my Colt Gold Cup or my Kimber Custom Eclipse.

It could just be a bad gun so I'd contact H&K or let buddy shoot it and see how he(or she ) does

If someone you know, who really knows how to shoot, can't seem to get it to work, then you might have a problem gun that needs some servicing.

I just don't like the feel of the USP as much as I appreciate the technology of it. Glocks fit me much better. You might come to a similar conclusion once you diagnose what's really wrong.

Confession time: I couldn't shoot worth spit with my SIG P220, J frames and Beretta Elite II until I burned a lot of ammo and worked through specific shooting techniques.

    Don't give up.

    I love my HK.

I have the USP Compact .45 Varation 1.

Not a single jam. I ran 50 rounds of UMC...no problem. I have ran 700 rounds of CCI Blazer 230gr without a single jam. Here and there I have fire carry ammo without a problem.

I was at the range with a friend who has a Glock 30. I spanked the Glock at 25 yards, 50 yards, and 75 yard. I really spanked the glock at 75 yards.

My HK is so much better than a Glock 30. I don't like the trigger pull on the glock

BTW: I can firm grip or limp grip without any problem with my HK.

Maybe you got a lemon. Or you know what they say....Its not the Car, its the Driver

I have an HK USP .40 Compact and really like it now. It took me quite a while to get used to the trigger, but once I figured it out and ran several hundred rounds through it, it became one of my favorite guns.

Guns only have two enemies: Rust and Liberals....
