I need info on an old shotgun I inherited

I recently got an old shotgun from my grandmother estate. It, as far as I can tell, is a Remington model 10 UMO. It has a symbol R.E.B on the right-hand side of the barrel neat the base anda n uppercase U above the serial number. I was just wanting to get a little information on it before haveing it put in the shop for some minor repairs. I considered using it as a hunting weapon but if its possibly a collectors item id rather not. Ive never seen one like this before that the main reason im asking. Also what kind of choke does it possibly have I can't tell

  It was the for-runner of the model 37 ithica.A fine shotgun in it's day and one that I still use.Especially useful for a duck gun because of the lack of holes that allow rain,snow,twigs to enter.If you have it repaired by a qualified gunsmith he will be able to tell you the choke.However,pattering it is a much better way to figure the choke than measuring the barrel.bill

  remington model 10a slide action shotguns came standard with full, modified, or cyinder chokes. introduced in 1907, discontinued in 1929. slide action, hammerless, takedown shotgun. all 12 gauge, all with 6 shot tube mags. BBL lengths 26", 28", 30", & 32". uncheckered pistol grip stocks, grooved slide handle. in NRA very good condition value is around $175.00. nicely made field piece... hope this helps, mike.
