Anyone no what model and what years they were made?
On the barrel its says 20 guage choke bore barrel and lug forged in one. On the receiver it says Iver Johnson's Arms & cycle works Fitchburg Mass USA

I think the Locking Bolt Spring is broken.

  I have an old IJ break top revolver. Ser #47141. Any way to tell what DOM is?

  Do you have one? If so, send it to him. Goforth is very well versed on these Iver Johnson guns and considered to be an expert. I know of no other person who has comparable knowledge.
  
  I would say this, if he says so, until I see one, (which I have not), I would take his word to be gospel. Therefore, I would believe what he has written as true! If he can be proved wrong, I'm sure he would be delighted......after all, such a gun would have been found!

  information to all concerned; since the publication of my first book in 1993 i have found a first model safety automatic revolver (single top post barrel latch)in .22 rimfire. i purchased one at a dallas texas gun show about six years ago. this new information is included in the revised edition of my book due for publication in early 2003 from blacksmith corp. the 22 rimfire safety automatic revolvers in any of the three models are the rarest.
  
  i appreciate all the good words people have said about my book but it was never intended to be the final word. i have learned so much since its publication. i want and seek information from anyone who has information on iver johnson's arms & cycle works firearms. if anyone thinks something in my book is wrong please let me know. i can be reach at bgoforth@ev1.net

  Thank you for the info Mr. Goforth, your book is great. For some reason,I never read that particular paragragh on .22's before, and since I have a single post in .22 rimfire, after reading the passage,I wanted to let someone know, mainly you. Looking forward to your new book.
