Anyone here have working knowledge of how to get around the red tape here in Maryland when it comes to obtaining a conceal and carry license?

  In Maryland it is difficult to get a permit. Just about the only justification is:
  
  ----Documented occupation that requires you to carry cash (e.g., bill collector)
  ----Former LEO, judge, assistant states attorney
  ----High ranking state or local govt employee
  ----Police-report-documented threats on your life
  ----Political connections
  
  If you decide to apply, phone first for a verbal opinion; the application fee is not refundable.

  Make sure you know when/how to carry and use. A permit doesn't necessarily imply adequate skills. Practice frequently and best wishes to get through that red tape!
